biography
Davide Curatola Soprana (1982) is an architect and photographer.
After attending courses in landscape theory and urbanism in Seville and Madrid, he graduated from “La Sapienza” University of Rome. In 2015 he moved to Madrid, focusing his research on the visual study of landscape, city and territory. He exhibits at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale in 2018 a project at the Italian Pavilion that later became the book “L’Altra Italia” published by Johan & Levi. In 2019 he exhibits at the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism SBAU. In 2021 he receives the Photography Prize at the XV Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo for his work on expansion plans in southeast Madrid. In 2022 he participates in the Oslo Triennale with work on the urban and landscape master plan for the FREIE MITTE in Vienna by Studio Vlay-Streeruwitz. In the spring of the same year he began research within the OPEN Master’s program in Architecture and Landscape Representation at the University of RomaTRE. The return to Italy encourages a renewed look at the city of Rome and the development of new projects in Spain on the relationship between infrastructure, demography and the philosophy of the rights of nature.
